HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday called for the file relating to the appointment of justice Nissar Ahmad Kakru as the chairperson of the State's Human Rights Commission (SHRC).
The bench while adjourning the hearing to Tuesday, necessitated the petitioner, Satyam Reddy, to address the court on the issue at the next hearing. The petitioner, a practicing lawyer and a former president of the High Court Bar Association, alleged that the appointment of former Chief Justice Kakru was faulty as only a single name was considered and this made the choice inevitable.
